The first woman in Norse myth. old Norse )
As the eldest and only daughter of an aging wealthy Norse warrior she was originally expected to take up the mantle after her own mother however when he started to train up her younger brother for battle it quickly became apparent that his daughter was far better with a weapon in her hands than a sewing needle.
After seeing this he agreed to train her and as the years passed she progressed but never stopped fighting as if she had something to prove. Once her parents died her brother took over the land, leaning more into farming, fishing and crafts but Nėnna-Embla chose to make coin through wagers put against her when she fight any local warrior that past through the town and underestimated her.
It was this fiery disposition and penchant to the sharp and shiny caught the attention of one such warrior named Nix and after holding her own against a few of his own clan he introduced her to his Chieftan who upon testing her abilities offered her a place in his ranks, a chance to follow them to new lands and to make a name for herself outside of her family as a shield maiden with Clan Wolfguard.
She jumped at the opportunity and set sail with them in search of honour and glory the following week.
