Wife to Brokkr
My name is Ulfhilde, a name that means Battlewolf, earned before my first breath was drawn. I was born amidst the clash of steel and the wild, chilling chorus of the wolves outside the walls of my family's small home in Lofthus, Norway. It was a fierce welcome into the world, one that defined my spirit.
My parents were simple people, tethered to the stony soil of Lofthus. Our farm was modest, providing for us through the loyalty of a cow, the strength of a horse, the bounty of sheep and goats, and the bustling life of chickens. From dawn until dusk, my task was to tend to these beasts and carry out whatever chore was laid before me, learning the strength and silence of labor under the vast Nordic sky.
Our simple life changed forever with the arrival of Brokkr, a handsome wanderer whose eyes held the restless oceans of the world. He was a breath of fresh air, bringing tales of distant lands, and soon, our hearts were bound together in marriage. Though we found peace in our union, the wanderlust in Brokkr’s soul was a powerful tide, and it soon pulled us away from Lofthus. With our Jarl, we left the familiar fjords, seeking new horizons across the waves, bound for England.
After a long and turbulent journey, the sea led us to the Isle of Wihtland. Here, among the green, rolling hills, we discovered a small, welcoming settlement that called itself Wolfguard. The name resonated with my own. Brokkr spoke to their chief, asking for sanctuary, and they welcomed us into their fold.
We have settled well in Wolfguard. We offer what skills we have, and once again, we raise a small flock of horses, sheep, and chickens. This new land is now home to our two beloved children: Nykur and Josef. Nykur, practical and strong like the earth we work, helps with the farm and family, and has begun his own training, preparing for life's challenges. Josef, filled with the fire of his ancestors, trains fiercely, readying himself to stand firm and protect our community from the shadow of raiders.
My life is no longer simple, but it is complete. From a farmer's daughter to a settler in a foreign land, the spirit of the battlewolf watches over our family and our new village, Wolfguard.
