Wolfguard is a Historical Re-enactment group based on the Isle of Wight.
We have been doing Dark Age re-enactment for over 30 years and primarily portray Vikings from this period of history. Whilst we are based on the Isle of Wight, we maintain strong links with the Mainland at our annual shows, 2 of which are Medieval so we have a small time hop for us.
We put on living history and combat displays for many of the Isle of Wight's schools and perform at most Island shows during the summer months.
A good number of our members venture overseas to the mainland to take part in events such as our annual trips to Templecombe and Tewkesbury (see Upcoming Events)
Walk the wight 2025
Members of the group completed the event in (almost) full Viking age clothing (minus the shoes for sanity) so that includes under kirtle, over kirtle, Rus style trousers, leg wraps, belt, knife, pouch, pocket and spear/axe.
Well done to Reka for finishing strong, sadly the Chief joined the gods but did smash out 18 miles before death found him ! If you’ve got the spare coin and can donate even a couple of quid then the group would really appreciate it 🥰

River Fest 2025
Wolfguard showed up in force this year on our annual raid down the river Medina for Riverfest 2025.
This year the group had an amazing living history set up with plenty to look and interact with. the groups done a good job of expanding out the aspects of Norse/Viking Life. A true trading community:
Harbard had a wood working, coin making, and collection of horn/bone displaying how trade may have been done.
Beyla had lots of people interested in weaving and Nålebinding
Axel, Nix and 'Boy' did a great job going through the weapons and tool that would have been used in this fascinating period of history.
Come visit us at Arreton barns most Sundays from 12 - 2 pop by to join in some sparring, no experiance need, as we are always looking for new members or just simply stop for a chat about what we do.
We are situated just north of the over flow car park on the grassy area.
