Welcome to Wolfguard !
Wolfguard is a Historical Re-enactment group based on the Isle of Wight.
We have been doing Dark Age Re-enactment for over 30 years and primarily portray Vikings from this period of history. Whilst we are based on the Isle of Wight, we maintain strong links with the Mainland at our annual shows, 2 of which are Medieval so we have a small time hop for us.
What do we do ?
We put on living history and combat displays for many of the Isle of Wight's schools and perform at most Island shows during the summer months.
A good number of our members venture overseas to the mainland to take part in events such as our annual trips to Templecombe and Tewkesbury (see Upcoming Events)
What have we been up to ?
August
Full camp last Saturday at Ryde Carnivals 'Party on the green'
We seldom get a chance to set up a full camp so it was a great opportunity to:
- whip up a very tasty stew (big thank you to Skuld and the wolf cubs)
- crack on with some overdue crafts such as; repairing armour, re-hafting spears, spinning raw wool into yarn for Nålebinding
- and the weighting out of some well earned silver
We also had 3 great fights in the centre green where our younger members really put on a show for the gods and commoners alike!
Where to find us ?
Come visit us at Arreton barns most Sundays from 12 - 2 pop by to join in some sparring, no experiance need, as we are always looking for new members or just simply stop for a chat about what we do.
We are situated just north of the over flow car park on the grassy area.
